Outfit// Babe Squad

What Am I Wearing
Feather Hearts 'Babe Squad' Shirt- Nylon Shop
Lightwash Denim Circle Skirt- American Apparel
Sunflower Bandeau-American Apparel
Platfrom Sneakers-Urban Outfitters
Hat-Dad's Closet

Sometimes I wonder why we dress the way we dress. Is it because fashion magazines tell us 'prints are in' or because the famous girl on Lookbook wore her tights under her shorts. Nowadays we are all try to fit under one tab, different; but if the different tab is full of the same kind of thing is it really different? In the fashion world there are lots of what I like to call 'fashion stereotypes.' There's the tomboy, the girly girl, the punk rocker, the bohemian queen and the list goes on. Do you ever wonder how you shifted to the stereotype you most relate with?

When I started to think about the reasons on why I decided to dress the way I do I always found myself coming back to being different. I didn't want to wear the basic jeans and t-shirt combo and I didn't want to be the next Lolita princess, but I knew I wanted to be something. Something I can look back ages from now and be proud of, something I knew would express me without words.

Today's outfit was inspired by the word Babe. It's the bio on my Instagram and it's the one word I can use to describe how I want to look in the morning oh and a cute guy or so. I ordered this shirt off of the Nylon Shop. It was about $32, breaking the bank in my opinion but I couldn't pass it up. So I ordered it in red and I counted down the days until it came! Another piece that I am super happy I ordered was this bandeau from American Apparel. If you look at my most recent What's Up in Fashionlanland post you will see I was ogling over the sunflower collection at American Apparel. When I saw this was only $16 I knew I had to have!

Later Babes!

Sincerely,
Lo

What's Up In Fashionland// Body Suits, Neon, Flowers

Body Suits

Stampd California One Piece Dope Swimsuit In Black
Photographic Tiger Print Sccop Swimsuit

Lion Face Deep Cut Swim Suit

Coastal Scenery Print Swimsuit

These are so fun! Bodysuits are pretty much leotards or onsies if you will. They come in basic colors, fun prints or cutouts. If you're really creative you can even turn your one piece bathing suit into one. Bodysuits are paired well with anything really; it's like wearing a shirt pretty much. If you're into basic colored bodysuits I'd definitely check out American Apparel. They have a variety of colors.

Neon

Image 2 of Glamorous Neon Skater Dress with Open Back

Very popular in 2011, neon is a pattern of bright fluorescent colors. I can't say I personally love love neon but I do like pops of neon colors in an outfit. When styling neon I would try not to overdue it. Try to do a neon top and purse or maybe neon pants and a neon hat. Keep the other pieces subtle so your neon pieces pop!

Flowers

Image 1 of ASOS Maxi Skirt in Floral Print

Flowers and floral prints are very big right now. If you haven't seen a blogger or festival goer in a flower crown you must have fallen off the face of the earth. My flower passion right now is actually these adorable sunflower shorts from American Apparel; I think I'm in love. Florals are fun and very versatile. They are good for being girly by keeping a common theme (floral on floral or floral with lace) or mixing prints (floral and stripes or floral and pastels). If you want to go for a girly look try a floral top and a circle skirt with ruffled socks and a pair of brogues. Or maybe you’re looking for an edgy look, try a floral dress a leather jacket and a pair of motorcycle boots. Lastly if you're not full on floral try a tomboy look with flair by wearing a basic tee a pair of jeans a nice coat and a floral scarf around your neck. Oh and don't forget to top an outfit off with a flower crown. you can definitely DIY your own. Check it out here!

Outfit// Plaid and Signatures

What Am I Wearing
Black Tank Top-Forever 21
Plaid Skirt-American Apparel
Grey Platform Sneakers-Urban Outfitters
Gold Necklace-Forever 21
The Infamous Headscarf

The headscarf. It has made it's mighty return. I've decided the headscarf is going to be my signature look. Marilyn had one, Angelina has one, and the Doctor from season 8 had one. So I thought instead of just looking repetitive why not just coin it my thing, my niche, my signature.

A signature look is something that can make you stand out. It's something you put forth so people remember you by. I like signature looks. I think they are cool in that you're declaring yourself an individual by showing who you want to be and what you want to be known by. Have you ever thought about what your signature look is?

Plaid, it's such a fun print. The versatile criss cross pattern is probably the easiest pattern to try to style. The first time I tried to style this plaid skirt from American Apparel I went for the most obvious look; school girl. I got the inspiration from catholic girl uniforms and for some reason I thought it was pretty cute. So there I was in the middle of the hallway in my white button down, yellow sweater vest, knee-high socks and saddle shoes, ready to take on the day. Needless to say after many stares, questions and comparisons to an anime character I can put this on in the fashion scrapbooks as a faux paux, but that day I decided I could take this skirt farther than Catholic schoolgirl. Since that day this skirt has been one of many greatest companions. It looks good with basic tee shirts and I loved it today with the black tank.

Tips From This Post

-Try to find your own signature look.

-Plaid is Rad!

-When basing a look on Catholic schoolgirls try to base it loosely. The full on look isn't the cutest.

Outfit//~Kelly Kepowski~

What Am I Wearing?
Kelly Kepowski Shirt-Target
Boyfriend Shorts-GAP
Black Boots-Doc Martens
Headwrap-Mom's Closet
Round Shades-Ebay

Remember the days when it was all about neon, crop tops and big hair? Yeah well neither do I but I have been able to slightly get a little of that 80's glory from the amazing show Saved by the Bell. Although I wasn't born in the decade to watch Saved by the Bell I was able to catch enough reruns to figure that the characters and their fashions were amazing!

I happened to find this shirt in the Boy's section of Target. The boy's section probably has the best novelty tees and I love getting the pants from there because they're easy to turn into boyfriend jeans and the pockets are SUPER DEEP. I've almost worn this shirt out as you can probably see from the crazy fading, but that's okay I will wear it until it's worn out. I decided to pair it with my blazer that was for a school event. I never like to let clothes go to waste so I decided I'd try to incorporate it in my outfits. So far it's made for a very cute piece. Accessory wise I got these black shades from eBay for a whooping $2. Amazing right? I would definitely recommend using ebay for buying inexpensive clothes or accessories. I'm sure you noticed I'm rocking yet another scarf. I know it's scandalous, 'same look different outfit'. I can't lie., I couldn't resist the chicness of the turban wrap. It just makes you look very cool and collected. That's all I have for today!

Tips From This Post
-Saved by the Bell is a great source for 80's fashion inspiration.
-Don't be afraid to check out the Boy's section of a store especially if you want a looser fit or boyfriend fit jean it if you're just into deep pockets like me. Also they have amazing tees.
-Don't let your clothes become a 'One Time Wear' piece. Try to incorporate pieces that you bought for another purpose into other outfits.
-Ebay is a great source of inexpensive fashion. Don't be afraid to scour the website for some cute finds.

-Don't be afraid to re-wear a piece you really like. No on is judging!

Outfit//Overall I Love Summer

What Am I Wearing?
Overalls-From a Friend
Cheetah Print Collared Shirt-Urban Outfitters
Cheetah Print Shoes-Kohls
Maroon and Navy Satchel-Cambridge Satchel Company

I love summer. The nice warm sun beating down on you as you soak up some rays at the beach or catch them through the window on your couch. It's also a great time to check out what everyone is wearing since it's finally that time of year when you can be cheeky and show some skin.

I happened to pick these overalls up at my friends house actually. We had this "Overall Success" Day in the 8th grade so she just had them sitting around in her closet. I knew she wasn't going to get a wear out of them so I happily took them off her hands. These are probably one of my best finds. Overalls are pieces that can be dressed up, dressed down or just a great piece to chill in; or farm if your into that stuff. Today I decided to dress over my 'alls by pairing them with this cheetah print collared shirt I picked up off the sales rack at Urban Outfitters. I also added in my matching Cheetah print shoes I got from Kohls last year (which I found out everyone else in my school also had) and my awesome companion my maroon and navy Cambridge Satchel my dad gave me last Christmas. I felt the satchel gave it a city slicker meets university student look if you get my drift. Well that's all for today, I'd love to see your overall outfits!

Tips From Today's Post

-Overalls are a summer must. They are versatille and can be dressed up or down.

-Try matching like prints for a cohesive look.

-Satchels are great and give off a very chic univeristy look.
Here are some cute alternatives to the Cambrige Satchel:

-It's summer, don't be afraid to show a little skin!
